The PULSETerraMetrix RS system was built with the goal of being the most accurate payload monitoring system on the market. In order to do this the system deploys loadcell technology to directly measure the material in the dipper. Inertial compensation is used so that operators get an accurate estimate of dipper payload while they are swinging towards the truck. This allows them the opportunity to take action before the truck leaves for the dump.
The team at PULSETerraMetrix have developed two Vision systems. The standard system uses a basic lidar head mounted on the shovel to provide operators with a profile view of the bank so that they can see the actual excavated material versus the mine design. Vision+ is the more advanced system. This provides similar functionality for the operator, but also saves the lidar data so that mine staff can examine material volumes, and visualize the shovel in 3D in real-time.
